Is FitnessForWeirdos for you?
Will Fitness For Weirdos help you achieve your goals or will it be a colossal waste of your time?
Hey,
This is Josh, Chief Weirdo.
And currently the only weirdo on Team Weirdo. But I’m hoping you may join me in this journey soon!
Anyhow, today is my first post.
This is my first article on FitnessForWeirdos.com.
In all honesty, I’m nervous and a bit afraid and last night I was lying in bed tossing and turning, completely stressed and restless because I was not sure if I should push on with this website or just stop before I have even really started.
Before I flipped out the lights and went to bed, I scrolled the web looking at other fitness websites.
All of them seemed better. More distinguished. They had more info, more in-depth articles, more cool images, more custom videos.
They had all the bells and whistles, ding-ding!
And then I looked at the people on those websites. Of course they’re jacked. Muscles ripping out of their shirts, powerlifters and gym rats.
How can I compete with that?
They’re better than me, I kept thinking.
Their websites are towering like Mount Everest while FitnessForWeirdos is a wet mound of mud.
So why even try?
Why not just give up.
Stop wasting my time and energy and effort.
So I rolled over, convinced that today, this morning, the first thing I would do was shut this project down and focus all my time and energy on other goals, ideas, and dreams.
Be more realistic I told myself.
But sometime around four AM I woke thinking about who I was a year ago. I was forty three years old and forty pounds heavier than I am today. I was tired all the time. I was depressed. I was miserable and a bit angry (mostly with myself, but essentially irritable with the whole damn world.)
To sum it up – I wasn’t proud of myself.
And it’s hard to live 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with someone you are ashamed to be with and who you absolutely resent.
But that was then and today is today.
Now I am forty-four years old and I am in the best shape of my life. I have much more energy and focus. I feel better. I’m much more confident. And most importantly, I’m proud of myself and my body and what I have accomplished in such a short amount of time.
Here’s a quick pic of me when I essentially hated who I was becoming and then a pic of me now today.
Okay, so let’s get to the point of this article…
When I woke at 4 am, my big thought was that maybe everyone doesn’t want to be a powerlifter, a gym-rat, a meathead.
I am none of those things, but I am still in the best shape of my life. I don’t have a bunch of cool pictures, and gnarly videos, and super crazy articles, but odds are, you don’t need those things.
Odds are, you can get in the best shape of your life without all the hoopla.
Odds are, you need to read less, watch less, have less complications.
I’ve gotten in the best shape of my life by structuring my workouts so they are short, sweet, and effective. (They’re roughly only about a half hour long.)
And by eating foods that I truly enjoy (I just had some delicious spaghetti with cheese stuffed meatballs for lunch!)
To me, the entire goal of health and fitness is to be happy with how you look and feel. To be proud of yourself. To respect yourself.
Some people, they’ll look at the above photos of me and think, ‘Nope, I need to be bigger than that, more ripped, more cut, more hair, less ugly, more whatever’, and that’s fine.
Your goals are your goals. Maybe you’re competing in bodybuilding competitions. Maybe you’re trying to run a triathlon. Maybe you’re trying to become a superstar athlete.
If that’s the case, then maybe FitnessForWeirdos is not for you.
I am here to try to help those who want to be happy with their bodies. Those who want to look good and feel good and be happy with themselves without having to severely limit their eating habits and without having to endure torturous workout routines that they hate.
I’ve tried the crazy diets and the painful workouts and none of that was for me.
So for the weirdos… for those souls who only want to be fit and proud. Who have no intention of being a powerlifter or a professional athlete. For those who are okay with not looking like the Hulk. For those who just want to be happy with how they look and feel. Who want to get in the best shape of their lives without limiting themselves to foods they only tolerate and workouts they actually despise. For you guys…welcome! FitnessForWeirdos is for you. You are why I am waking up and keeping this project going. I hope that my experiences and the things that have worked so well for me – I sincerely hope they help you as well.
And for the meat heads and power lifters; the gym-rats and bodybuilders, maybe this is not where you belong. You may get more value from Muscle&Fitness or BodyBuilder.com.
But on the flip, maybe this is a great place for you to start, but just not a good place for you to finish. Either way, to those persons, I wish you well on your journey.
P.S. – I’m currently in the process of creating a step-by-step guide that entails everything that has worked for me. I’m confident that the same fundamentals will work for you as well. If you click here, and then enter your email at the top of the page, then I will send you each chapter as I finish it.
Keep in mind, these chapters are essentially rough drafts. So if you see grammar issues or anything that is confusing, please let me know so I can either clarify the confusing parts or correct any mistakes.
This is 100 percent FREE, so don’t worry about getting halfway through and then a sales page popping up.
That would be something a normal fitness website would do.
And the last thing we want is to be normal.
We want to be different.
In the best shape of our lives.
Happy.
Confident.
Proud.
Uniquely ourselves.
In our own individual weird little ways.
I hope you’re having an awesome day!
I’m gonna go eat a candy bar now!
See ya!
Josh
